Hello, my name is I am not a serial killer but I am fascinated by them.
Fact:
People who are fascinated by serial killers were rated 70 times more interesting conversationalists compared to those who are not.
(I couldn't find an original source for this though! But it makes sense to me!)

Prologue
Hello!
This is a quick, preluding post to the start of a new, lively, electrifying criminology blog!
I just wanted to say a few words about myself; I am a 22-year-old first year BA Criminology student studying at the University of Manchester. I am originally from Sweden but have spent most of my life on the charming island of Mallorca in Spain.
I have been interested in Criminology since seeing my first episode of CSI (the first few seasons with Gil Grissom and Catherine Willows!) when I was nine. I was captivated by this series based on reality, increasing public awareness of forensic science and crime scene investigation. The show was intelligent and literate with intriguing stories and lots of cool crime-fighting toys. Every episode revealed cool ways in which a crime scene unit can place you at a crime scene and ultimately prove that you committed the crime. This show was tailor-made for any overly curious kid hungry for knowledge. It made me seek answers to questions I'd never thought of before. Why do people do the things they do? What drives a person to kill another? How the hell could that speck of dust convict that man of that murder? These standard questions all fall under the subject area of Criminology.
Whether you became interested in Criminoloy due to personal experiences, through studying psychology or sociology, by reading daily media (mis?)representations of crime in the news or by watching crime fiction/reality shows on TV like me (so cliche!) or if you just happened upon this site via google search and really have know clue what I am on about - this blog is for you!
Get ready to be emerged in the fascinating world of Criminology - why people commit crime and much, much more!
